At the end of 2015 Congress unanimously passed the Patient Access and Medicare Protection Act (PAMPA, P.L. 114-115) which postponed CMS’ implementation of significant payment cuts for complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) accessories and seating systems. The passage of PAMPA insured that beneficiaries would continue to have access to the quality goods and services that they needed, but only for twelve months.
At the end of last year, Congress passed a law delaying for one year drastic Medicare cuts for accessories on wheelchairs – such as tilt and recline, cushions, leg rests, etc. – but our protection ends soon!
