Effective September 1, 2016 Permobil will be taking over operations of Advanced Health Care. The acquisition is an important step for Permobil in its strategy to become the number one advanced rehab technology company in Canada, providing innovative advanced rehabilitation solutions for people with disabilities.
With the acquisition, Permobil will invest to develop and further expand the reach of Advanced Health Care’s leading rehab technology services serving countless more people in need and widening the product leadership position in Canada. AHC (Advanced Health Care), a distributor with many years’ experience in Canada and Permobil, has had a long- term partnership. Among its other product lines, AHC has successfully sold products for ROHO, the global leader in seating solutions for wheelchair users. ROHO is owned by Permobil, and Canada is ROHO’s number one market outside of the US.
“Permobil is dedicated to serve the high demand in Canada. AHC has an unparalleled position in the Canadian market and the combination with Permobil will allow us to better serve users with our triple play offer; power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs and seating solutions. Together we will build a bigger and stronger organization in Canada, set for growth,” says Larry Jackson, President of Permobil North America.
“Permobil has a family of products that are leaders in advanced rehabilitation technology – TiLite, ROHO and Permobil. AHC has represented ROHO for many years. Permobil has the same commitment to the user, excellent products and fantastic service that AHC has. This acquisition brings the opportunity to deliver more resources to fulfil the needs of the users”, says Andrew Schwartz CEO of AHC.
“We are very proud and excited to welcome the all employees of AHC to the Permobil family. Together, we will accelerate our growth plans in the advanced rehabilitation market in Canada by creating the industry’s leading sales force. The combination of Permobil’s innovative product portfolio and the two organization’s know-how will see us increase our reach rapidly. We look forward to continue helping people improve their quality of life and their independence,” says Allan Boyd, General Manager of Permobil Canada.
Allan Boyd will be General Manager of Permobil Canada, Jeremy Gainsbury will continue as Operations Director and Location Manager in Montreal. The former management team of AHC, Andrew Schwartz, Brent Cutmore and Randy Margalith, will continue to run PDG; Andrew Schwartz and Randy Margalith will support the organization during the transition process.
