The M2 is constructed with dual density foam, a molded foam base, and Quadra3D Gel pack. The M2 comes in three styles: Zero Elevation style which allows for greater freedom of movement for standard positioning issues, Anti-Thrust style provides anterior pelvic build-up to prevent forward migration, and the Wedge style controls forward leaning by adding slight anterior height.

  • Quadra3d® Gel

    Four compartment Quadra3D Gel is designed to prevent gel migration. Quadra 3D Gel regulates body temperature by retaining head and redistributes pressure to provide maximum comfort.

  • Available with GlideWear®

    GlideWear is designed to promote healing and reduce the risk of pressure injury through the use of the Shear Reduction Zone. GlideWear provides reduction of shear forces to increase skin protection, 100% breathability for microclimate control, and improved comfort from reduced friction. The GlideWear technology option is available as an embedded upgrade to Stretch-Air & Comfort-Tek fabric options. Latex free.

  1. Tapered adductors increase in width near the rear of the cushion to give support to the greater trochanters.
  2. Deep lateral and medial leg contours promote postural alignment.
  3. Coccyx relief cutout reduces pressure on the tailbone and spine.

Immersion is another principle of pressure distribution, neither better nor worse than offloading. Whether it is better or worse depends completely on the patient’s individualized needs and what you as a therapist are trying to achieve.
Recall that the principle of offloading is redistributing pressure away from a small surface area onto a greater surface area that can withstand the constant pressure better, making a patient less likely to sustain a pressure injury.
Immersion, on the other hand, is the principle of conforming to the person’s curvature by “sinking the body in.” We allow the cushion and/or back support to take the body’s shape, alleviating the bony prominences from unwanted peak pressure to maximize pressure redistribution.
