Titanium performance.

The 2GX combines the advantages of a modular folding frame with the high strength and vibration dampening characteristics of titanium. Add full adjustability and the 2GX is designed to empower – no matter where you choose to roll.

  • The wheelchair footplates, footrest and wheels.
    Modular Design

The modular frame design of the 2GX facilitates configurability in the field. This includes adding aftermarket seating systems, switching fixed and swing away front ends, and growing chair width and/or depth to meet changing customer needs.

  • 2GX Adjustable
    Full Adjustability

The Tru-Fit system opens up the world of adjustability by incorporating an infinite adjustment mechanism. The Tru-Fit system allows you to fine tune the fit of your wheelchair because you are not limited to a series of pre-set holes.

  • 2GX Folding
    Folding Frame

The 2GX folding frame is compact, with a fluid, easy-to-use folding mechanism. Side-to-side folding minimizes the folding width and maximizes ease of transportation. These features are “must have” advantages for anyone who chooses a folding chair.

  • The midline footrest of the Wheelchair.
    Titanium

Titanium absorbs vibration, won’t break, and has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal on Earth. That is why TiLite builds our highest performing wheelchairs from seamless, aerospace-grade titanium. If you want strength, durability, and a smooth roll, you want a titanium ride.

2GX  Innovation

Modular Design of the 2GX facilitates configurability in the field. This includes:

  • Adding aftermarket seating systems.
  • Switching fixed and swing away front ends.
  • Growing chair width and/or depth.

The Tru-Fit System opens up the world of adjustability by incorporating an infinite adjustment mechanism. The Tru-Fit system allows you to fine tune the fit of your chair because you are not limited to a series of pre-set holes. Also, instead of bolting through frame-weakening holes, components clamp directly onto the frame. This eliminates one of the main stress points on today’s wheelchairs by reducing the number of holes in the frame.

Improved Speedloader Design makes for easier, more durable adjustments and two positions (forward/backwards) for caster positioning.

Redesigned Footplates are lighter with a rubberized non-slip surface and an updated look.

Patented Curved Axle Plate allows for the greatest range in center of gravity adjustment and rear seat height adjustment.

Snap-In Seat Saddles lock the cross tubes in place on TiLite’s rigid folding mechanism. This feature helps the Aero X achieve rigid chair performance.

The Aero X utilizes Machined Plugs to create rear wheel camber. In contrast to using washers to create rear wheel camber, the use of machined camber plugs precisely aligns the Aero X’s rear wheels, allowing the chair to consistently track straight.

All about you.

We see a wheelchair the same way you do. As an extension of you. Not just of your body. But of your personality. Why? Because many of our employees are also TiLite users. They depend on our chairs as much as you do. And they’ve learned through experience how to use design, technology and creativity to improve lives.

Smart Actuators: what are they and what do they do?

Today's blog is written by Rachel Maher, our clinical education specialist in Australia.
Actuators are used on power wheelchairs to make the seat move – so it is an actuator that makes a seat move back into tilt, or the back support recline, or the leg supports elevate. A smart actuator is an actuator that has a sensor attached to it, allowing it to sense its position in space. A smart actuator is able to sense its position at any point between being fully retracted or fully extended, or for example whether the seat is in no tilt, or in 15 degrees of tilt, or 45 degrees, as opposed to being in no tilt, or full tilt.

Lessons learned in our many years of developing Standing Power Wheelchairs

It is easy to look at the F5 Corpus VS and be in awe of its ability to transition someone from sitting to standing with smoothness and grace. While the flagship chair of the Permobil line is amazing in all capacities we cannot overlook the lessons we have learned in the last 43 years of manufacturing standing power wheelchairs. What you all know as the F5 Corpus VS was a lifelong journey of love, dedication, and the drive to give our end users the same technological advantages that we all use in our everyday lives

Lesson #1: End users need a full range of power seat functions
While the first Permobil standing power wheelchair in 1977 was innovative, we quickly discovered that compromising other power seat functions to achieve our goal was not ideal. From only utilizing recline and power leg movements, to limiting tilt to 25 degrees in the 1980’s and 90’s, we learned that asking our end users to give up key components of their seating system would not best meet their needs. In 2004, with the introduction of the Permobil Combi, we accomplished our goal of giving our power wheelchair end users full power seat functions and did away with the “either/or” option. Our standing wheelchair has continued to evolve into what we know today as the F5 Corpus VS.
