The all new F5 Corpus VS – Stand Without Compromise

With the F5 Corpus VS, there are no compromises. We combined all of the features of the world-renown Corpus seating system, along with standing functionality. With the F5 Corpus VS, users may stand and drive at any point of the stand sequence, and the redesigned chest bar offers added comfort and stability. The F5 Corpus VS provides an array of benefits from social interactions like being able to talk to someone face-to-face to positive health outcomes like greater pressure relief and improve circulatory, GI and respiratory systems.

  • Fully Independent Suspension

A true fully independent suspension allows the F5 Corpus VS to absorb everyday terrain and obstacles with minimal translation to the user. Our updated shocks are fully adjustable with an included 4mm tool, all while the user remains in the chair. The ride quality is like nothing you’ve experienced in a power wheelchair before.

  • Redefining Support

The chest bar and knee blocks on the F5 Corpus VS have been completely redesigned for comfort and accessibility. With features like simplified adjustment points and quick release mechanisms, utilizing a standing wheelchair has never been easier.

  • Automatic Anti-tippers

The F5 Corpus VS’ powered anti-tippers are attached directly to the chassis and automatically deploy during the stand sequence, providing the most stable standing platform available, no matter the angle.

  • Connect

We live in a world where connection is everything. Your chair should be no exception and now features the same level of technology that you’ve come to expect in your daily life. Connecting users and service technicians through a single intuitive platform improves communication and helps you be better prepared for the unexpected.

The Corpus® Seating System.

We retained all of the things that you have come to expect from the legendary Corpus seating system like the open armrest design and the UniTrack System. Then, we took the Corpus seating system to the next level with advanced features such as: programmable legrest articulation, 14” seat elevator and the A/P tilt function, which provides 50º of posterior tilt as well as any degree of anterior tilt including full stand angle. The A/P tilt helps our users with transfers, added reach, and allows them to get closer to a table or workspace.

Unprecedented Functionality.

With features like programmable power footplates and standing backrest angle adjustments all while retaining 50º of tilt,
the F5 Corpus VS stands without compromise.

Understanding How Children Gain Independent Mobility

Part2 in our blogseries focusing on Pediatric Mobility Solutions and the TiLite Pilot. See Part 1 here.

Last week we took a look at the several limitations in the overall design of traditional pediatric self-propelled manual mobility. From overall weight of the setup to how a short wheel base impacts stability and propulsion, these limitations can be devastating for our young clients. In order to solve these limitations, it’s important to understand how children gain independent mobility along with some of the physiology behindthe importance of improving pediatric manual mobility design.

Limitations in Pediatric Manual Wheelchair Options

Part1 in our blogseries focusing on Pediatric Mobility Solutions and the TiLite Pilot.

It has been well established that the importance of self-initiated mobility is essential to a child’s development. The ability to determine when and where you would like to move impacts multiple body systems. This self-directed mobility can positively influence a child’s ability to locate and track objects in their environment, understand movement planning, improve communication, and enhance emotional and cognitive development. With the TILite Pilot, we are creating an opportunity to support these developmental milestones through self-initiated manual wheeled mobility.

Ergonomic Seating and Manual Wheelchairs

Everyone has experienced an ergonomic seat design at some time or another. If you look at the seats in our cars, offices or even in waiting rooms ergonomic design is used because those making the chairs understand that the more the chair contours and fits a person, the less work the person must do to maintain good posture. Ergonomic seating has been underutilized in manual wheelchair design because we have customarily been dependent on cushions and backrests for postural support and positioning. We’ve also used linear seat slope as a method of providing pelvic stability, but this comes with important considerations. So, what is the difference between using traditional linear seat slope and ergonomic seating? We will take a closer look at the differences and show you why ergonomic seating is an amazing advancement in seating design for a person using a manual wheelchair.
